What is a phone QR code?
A phone QR code stores a tel: link with your number. When someone scans it, their phone opens the dialler with the number filled in. Nothing is dialled until they tap call.
Include the country code, such as +65 for Singapore, so the number works for visitors on overseas SIM cards too. Spaces, brackets and hyphens are fine to type; the tool removes them inside the code, so +65 9123 4567 is stored as tel:+6591234567.
This is a static QR code. What it opens is stored in the image itself, so there is no redirect, no scan count and no way to change it after printing. To change it, make and print a new code. It does not create PayNow or SGQR payment codes.
How to make a phone number QR code
- Enter your number. Start with the country code, such as +65 9123 4567. Mobile and landline numbers both work.
- Add your logo and colours. Upload a logo for the centre if you like, keep a dark code on a light background and wait for Scan check passed.
- Download your code. Choose PNG or JPEG at 512, 1,024 or 2,048 pixels, or SVG to scale it to any size.
- Test it. Scan the file with your phone and check the right number appears in the dialler.
Where a phone QR code helps
- Service vans and site boards. Aircon servicing, plumbing and renovation crews get calls from people who spot the van.
- Property and rental signs. Passers-by call the agent from the street without saving the number first.
- Clinic and salon appointment lines. A code on the door or window catches people when you are closed.
- Delivery and hotline stickers. Put the hotline on the parcel so customers call the right number first time.
- Name cards. Pair it with a WhatsApp code for clients who would rather message.
- Bag tags and equipment labels. Someone who finds the item can call you straight away.
Plenty of customers would rather message than call. If you answer on WhatsApp, offer a WhatsApp QR code with a short message as well.
Phone or WhatsApp?
| QR code | What opens | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Phone | The dialler with your number ready to call | You want calls, or the caller may not use WhatsApp |
| A chat with you, with your message already typed | You prefer messages, photos and replies in your own time |
Print it, or put it on a stand
The download is yours to use anywhere: menus, flyers, stickers and signs. For a counter, the generator can carry the same artwork into a 3D-printed QR stand, or see the Tap Bar QR, which puts a QR panel beside NFC tiles. Ordering is optional. To print your own stand, try QR Stand Maker.

Phone QR code FAQ
Does a phone QR code call automatically?
No. Scanning opens the dialler with your number filled in. The person still taps call.
Should I include the country code?
Yes, it is the safest choice. +65 9123 4567 works on Singapore and overseas SIM cards alike. Without it, the call may not connect for someone using an overseas SIM card.
Can it send a text message (SMS) instead?
Not in this generator. It makes a tel: code for calls. For a message, use a WhatsApp QR code with a pre-filled message.
Can I change the number after printing?
No. This is a static code with no redirect. Make and print a new code if the number changes.
Can I add my logo to a phone QR code?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 2 MB, choose Small, Medium or Large, and download once the finished design passes the scan check.
Is it really free, with no sign-up?
Yes. Make the code and download PNG, SVG or JPEG without an account, an email address or a purchase. There is no watermark, and the code does not expire because nothing sits between the scan and your content.
Is anything I type uploaded?
No. The code and your logo are made in your browser. Your edits stay in this browser tab so a reload or a trip to a stand page does not lose them. Nothing is sent to a QR server.
