Search for "Google review stand" and you get a wall of near-identical options: a clear acrylic or PVC plaque, a Google logo, one NFC chip and a QR code. Prices run from about US$17 on Amazon to just over US$100 for designed displays.

They all do the basic job. The differences show up after a month on the counter: how many links you get, who controls them, and whether the stand looks like your business or like everyone else's. Here is what is on the market, where it falls short, and what to check before you buy.

What is on the market

We read the product pages of nine review stands sold in Australia, the UK, the US and online marketplaces. Three patterns stood out.

How our stands are different

More than 400 businesses use them across Europe, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

Prices and details as shown on each seller's product page on 19 October 2026, in the currency shown. US-dollar prices were shown to a US visitor and can differ by region. A dash means the page did not say. Tap Bar 3 is RM209 in Malaysia and €59.99 in Europe.

What to check before you buy

1. Tap, scan or both

NFC is the fastest way to open a review form. QR works on every camera phone. For payments, QR is required: payment codes such as PayNow and DuitNow are read inside a banking app, and a tap cannot open them. Our tiles can carry a printed QR code, and the Tap Bar QR has a QR panel beside its tiles.

2. Who controls the link

Ask the seller three questions:

3. How many links you need

Most counters need more than a review link. Instagram, WhatsApp and a booking page all earn their place. One stand with three tiles takes less counter space than three single-link plaques.

4. Branding

A plain plaque says "review us". A branded stand says the business cares about detail. Check whether you can change the base colour, the tile colours, the icons and the logo, not just pick from black or white.

5. Format for your space

6. Proof and lead time

A custom stand should come with a digital proof you approve before anything is made. Ours take 10 business days after payment and proof approval.

One wording trap to avoid

"Leave us 5 stars for a free coffee" breaks Google's policy. So does any reward for a review. Keep the call to action simple: "Enjoyed your visit? Tap to review." Read what Google allows before you print anything.

People also ask

How many tiles do I need?
Start with your top two: usually Google reviews and Instagram. Add a third for WhatsApp or bookings.
Is a review stand worth it for a small business?
A Tap Base 2 costs S$29, once. There is no monthly fee, and it asks every customer, every day.
Do review stands need a subscription?
Most do not. Several do route link changes through the seller's own platform or account. Ours hold your link directly, and you change it with a free app.
Do I need a different stand for each country?
No. The tiles open any link, in any country.
