How to create a QR code for free
- Choose Website, Text, Email, Phone, Wi-Fi or WhatsApp and enter the content you want to encode.
- Customize the pattern, corners and colours. Optionally upload a logo or add an outer outline.
- Wait for the scan check, then download PNG, SVG or JPEG. No account is needed.
- Test the download with a phone at the size you plan to print. Leave the clear margin around the code.
For a counter display, optionally continue to a QR Stand or NFC Tap Stand with your artwork already loaded. You can still download without choosing a product.
PNG, SVG or JPEG?
| Format | Use it for | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| PNG | Websites, social posts, documents and everyday printing | Lossless raster image; choose 512, 1024 or 2048 pixels. |
| SVG | Design software and scalable printed artwork | Vector QR modules, with an embedded raster logo if you uploaded one. |
| JPEG | Photo-based workflows that require JPG files | Compressed raster image with a solid background; PNG is preferable for sharp edges. |
Static QR codes for everyday use
Link customers to a menu, booking page, Google review link, social profile or website. Email and phone codes can open the matching app; Wi-Fi codes share a personal network’s credentials with anyone who scans them. This tool does not provide dynamic redirects, destination editing or scan analytics.
For printed signs, start with a simple, dark-on-light design and a short destination. Keep the built-in clear margin, avoid very small printing, and test with more than one phone. The automated check is useful evidence, not a guarantee for every camera or material.
Need a physical display? Allin Studio in Singapore makes QR stands and NFC Tap Stands. If you print your own products, explore QR Stand Maker or the 3D QR tile tool; those print-file downloads use a free Make account.
Free QR generator FAQ
Is this QR code generator free without an account?
Yes. Create and customize a QR code and download PNG, SVG or JPEG without signing in, providing an email address or buying anything. Your export has no watermark.
Do these QR codes expire?
The generated codes are static: they encode your content directly and do not depend on a QR subscription or tracking redirect. A website code works while its destination remains available. You cannot change a static code’s destination after printing; generate and print a new code to change it.
Can I add my logo, rounded corners and custom HEX colours?
Yes. Choose square, rounded, extra-rounded or dot modules, set the matched corner style, enter HEX colours or use the colour picker, and upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP logo. The logo sits in a small central square. High error correction and a clear scanning margin are retained.
Can I create a WhatsApp QR code with a message?
Yes. Choose WhatsApp, select the country code, enter the national number and optionally add a short pre-filled message. The tool generates an HTTPS wa.me link. Messages are limited to 120 characters and the encoded link is limited to 600 bytes; symbols can use more space. The complete QR is checked before download.
Which QR image format should I download?
Choose PNG for everyday digital use, SVG for scalable vector QR artwork, or JPEG for software that needs JPG images. An uploaded logo remains an embedded raster image inside an SVG. PNG and JPEG have an opaque background.
How do you check whether my customized code scans?
The tool renders your complete design, including colours, corner styles and logo, then uses an independent QR reader to check that it decodes to the exact content. Export checks run again at your chosen size. Test the result with your own phone before printing; lighting, size and materials still affect scanning.
Can I order my QR code on a physical stand?
Yes. Choose QR Stand to load your QR in emboss mode with an editable Scan to pay heading. For NFC stands choose Tap Bar 2, Tap Bar 3 Max or Tap Bar 4 Max. Your QR loads directly into QR mode with an editable Scan to pay heading. Website and WhatsApp codes prefill the first NFC destination. Review stand colours, placement, price and delivery on the product page before ordering.
Is my QR content or logo uploaded?
The generator processes your content and logo in your browser. Your edits stay in this browser tab so you can return from a stand page or reload the editor. It does not send them to a QR generation server. Choosing a stand stores a temporary design in this browser and carries it to the product configurator. Normal checkout uploads the artwork when you place an order.
Can I generate a PayNow payment QR here?
This tool can encode an existing payment link, but it does not create bank-certified PayNow payment credentials. For a PayNow stand, use the QR supplied by your bank or payment provider in QR Stand Maker.
